If you’re a nerd like me, you’ll already be familiar with Popular Science and what it entails, but for the uninitiated it’s a long-running (140 years!) magazine featuring articles about science and technology. This much I already knew. What I didn’t know was that they’ve partnered with Google to release all their issues online, in their original format (ie. including the advertising of the time) and you can search for keywords or see a calendar of word frequencies by month over the 140 year year history! For instance, you can see that “music” was most written about in the 1920s!
